Birmingham Electrical
Training (BET) was founded
in 1991 as an organisation
dedicated to assisting
people to gain access
to the electrical installation
industry.
The company was owned
by Birmingham Electrical
Contractors Training Group
(BECTG), a network of
contractors set up to
share good practice and
train their own electricians
to industry standards.
The company grew rapidly
from 1997 and it became
necessary to put it on
a stronger footing. To
this end, the directors
bought the company from
the Group in September
2001.
In September 2002, BET
moved to a specialist
training centre at 34
Brearley Street in Hockley.
The Faraday Centre has
excellent facilities to
deliver both practical
and theory “off
the job” training
and consists of training
rooms, workshops, IT suite
and facilities for meetings.
Off the job training
is provided by a team
of 7 tutors. Training
in the workplace is provided
by employers and is overseen
by BET’s team of
7 training officers from
who help and support is
provided.
With a dedicated tutoring
staff providing a quality
service, BET aims to exceed
the requirements of national
standards and enhance
our reputation as a training
provider of high repute.
As the leading provider
of electrical installation
training in Birmingham
BET has developed strong
links with local employers
and Colleges of Further
Education and is able
to provide training for
100 people each year.
BET provides work based
learning in electrical
installation.
The company also offers
commercial training in
the installation and commissioning
of electrical and electro-technical
systems and equipment,
information and communication
technology, management
and Health & Safety.
