The Company

Established over 25 years ago, Birmingham Electrical Training (BET) is a leading electrical training provider, delivering electrical training to apprentices and electricians. Rated Good by Ofsted, we are based in Hockley near the city centre in Birmingham. With our own dedicated training centre, we currently support over 300 apprentices and work with approximately 120 local electrical contractors.

Under our apprentice programme we partner with local electrical contractors who provide employment and ‘on the job training’ and we provide off the job training programmes delivered by our dedicated team of Tutors and Training Officers. We also offer commercial training in the installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment and upscaling courses for electricians.

 


Electrical Installation Tutor

Birmingham Electrical Training is an electrical training provider based in Birmingham. We currently train over 400 electrical apprentices working with 180 local and national electrical contractors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an additional Electrical Tutor/Lecturer to our team. Graded GOOD by Ofsted at our last inspection, we pride ourselves on delivering high quality industry relevant training to the next generation of electricians. Are you looking for change of career, mentoring and guiding the next generation of electricians? Do you wish to give back but still want work closely with electricians and employers to guide apprentices training?

Our tutors play an integral and inspirational role in the development of our apprentices. The role encompasses teaching both apprentices and adult learners on upskilling courses. You will be based at our Birmingham Centres teaching both theoretical and practical lessons to apprentices aged 16+. You will need to have a good knowledge of electrical principles but also able to enrich your lessons through your own industry and career experiences.  If you are an experienced Tutor or Lecturer then we would love to hear from you, but don’t worry if you are an experienced electrician looking for a career change into education. We offer high levels of support and training opportunities, delivered both internally and externally. You will also be able to update your electrical equalisations with our range of electrical short courses. The position involves working with Apprentices delivering C&G 5357 Level 3 Diploma and delivering City & Guilds commercial training courses i.e. 18th Edition, PAT Testing, Inspection and Testing, EV Charging

Benefits:

Working hours are 8.00am – 4.30 Mon-Thurs, 8.00am – 4.00 on Friday with ½ lunch

Salary: £34,000 to £42,000 pa
